Want to be involved in the event but not quite sure about lacing up those running shoes yet? We would love to encourage you to volunteer!

Each year the Critz Tybee Run needs up to one hundred dedicated and hard working volunteers to 'Make It Happen!'. Many local Tybee and Savannah area residents, businesses, and organizations are excited to have this premier running and walking event in their backyards and have a lot of fun contributing to the festivities. This year the Critz Tybee Run Fest needs more volunteers than ever before. The race organizers, runners, walkers, and spectators will be and always have been deeply indebted to the volunteers for their enthusiasm and support. There are numerous volunteer opportunities to choose from throughout the many components the Critz Tybee Run Fest will be offering this year.

The 2014 Critz Tybee Run Fest race organizers are looking to sign up several new, enthusiastic volunteers to assist with a multitude of tasks for the event weekend and beyond. The Critz Tybee Run Fest couldn't hold the event and its related activities like packet pick-ups, dry clothes drop-off and pick-up, trade shows, etc. without an army of volunteers, and now the organizers are in need of additional recruits.

“If you share our passion for the locally organized, nationwide published event and want to be a part of our energetic team for the Critz Tybee Run Fest 2014, we would love to hear from you,” says Event Coordinator Cornelia Stumpf. "Our volunteers are essential to both our organizers and our race participants and helping is a great way to give back to the community and meet everybody involved with this great event.”

The race volunteers come from many walks of life: Runners, their families and friends, dedicated volunteer organizations like “Hands on Savannah," students from SCAD, the members and volunteers of the Humane Society of Greater Savannah, professionals, retirees, restaurant staff, neighborhood activists and others who want to share their talents and time by helping the races and the community to strengthen and sustain the local event and economy.

Volunteer opportunities include work at pre-race events like the Expo for the Bridge Run, the race packet pick up, the race day Welcome Tent and much more. Volunteers can choose the days, hours, and tasks they prefer. They can assist with the set up and operation of the information booth and event logistics on race days. Volunteers also support the race with events around town and community outreach hosted by a variety of partner programs. Volunteers are a vital part of communication and dialogue to the public and contribute to a number of decision-making processes and new ideas through feedback to Race Management Team.

The volunteers receive certain perks including a free race shirt in return for their valuable time.  For more information please contact Cornelia Stumpf at 912-692-8992 or e-mail her at cornelia@cscpconsult.com, if you are interested in partnering with the Critz Tybee Run Fest 2014.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering and we hope to speak with you soon!
