CRITZ TYBEE RUN FEST supporting the community since 2009

Each year as part of its vision, The Critz Tybee Run Fest contributes its proceeds to the Critz Tybee Run Scholarship Fund managed by the Savannah Community Foundation. All race/event surplus funds are contributed every year to the Critz Tybee Run Scholarship, then used to provide scholarships to Tybee, Low Country and Savannah community organizations to foster the spirit of health and education. Recipients of scholarship grants of approximately $70,000 from the 2013 Critz Tybee Run Fest's proceeds have been dispersed to a number of organizations including:

·         Armstrong Atlantic State University

·         Horizons Savannah

·         Lady Bamford Early Learning  Center

·         Savannah College of Art and Design

·         Savannah State University

·         The Froebel Circle's Fresh Air Home at Tybee

·         The Humane Society for Greater Savannah Youth Education Program

·         The Tybee Maritime Academy

·         Tybee Island YMCA

Funding was made possible by sponsorship support, advertising placement and over 4,000 runners registering in the race. The Savannah Community Foundation distributed funds to Tybee, Savannah and coastal region organizations that provide services fostering education and healthy lifestyles. The 2013 funds bring the total proceeds distributed over the last 3 years, since the 2 days= 5 races= 26.2 miles format was inaugurated, to over $155,000.00 for local non for profits.

“The Critz Tybee Run Fest and all participants, sponsors and promoters work hard to reach our goal, helping support education and healthy lifestyle. We strive to maximize the race proceeds, so the contributions can serve as many organizations as possible,” said Dale Critz, Jr., Co-Founder and Title Sponsor. Dale Critz Jr. and the entire Critz family have a long-standing tradition of supporting the community.

By being part of numerous nonprofit organizations in the Greater Savannah Area, Dale Critz Jr. and the whole Critz family have a longstanding tradition to contribute large amounts to better their community through donations, scholarships and grants.

The race proceeds from the 2014 Critz Tybee Run Fest will be distributed during our check presentation event this September. Thanks to all who participated; you in turn have donated to a list of great local schools and organizations.
